Testing & Performance

State Testing
Our statewide testing system is referred to as the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). CAASPP is comprised of Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics for students in third through fifth grade, as well as the California Science Test for students in fifth grade. Students take the tests each spring.

CAASPP results for ELA and Math are released in the late summer or early fall, and Science scores are relased in the fall or winter. Click here for directions for accessing your child's test scores on Power School Parent Portal; the District is no longer mailing test scores home.

Nationally Mandated Testing
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as The Nation's Report Card, tests students in a range of subjects in grades 4, 8, and 12. The English Langauge Proficience Assessment for California (ELPAC) monitors the progress of English learners. FITNESSGRAM is a Physical Fitness Test for students in grade 5.

Special Education Testing
Parents may request that a district psychologist and resource specialist evaluate their children for learning disabilities. Requests are to be made to the principal. An Instructional Study Team (IST) will meet with the parent or guardian to determine the appropriateness of the request.
