Kindergarten enrollment for 2025-2026 will begin after February 4th. Please call the office.
Whether your family will be new to our school, or you are already part of our school community, kindergarten is a wonderful year at LJES! We offer a full day kindergarten program from 8:15am-2:45pm, with a 12:20 dismissal each Wednesday. We will also offer transitional kindergarten (TK) for the 2025-2026 school year, and it follows the same schedule.
To register a child for Kindergarten, please bring two current proofs of residency, the child's birth certificate or passport, and their immunization record to the school office. For questions regarding enrollment, please email Lisa Schrift at
[email protected]. You can also contact the school office at 619-605-3300 during the school year (please note that the office closes from June 2-July 25 and will reopen for enrollment on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
We usually have playdates in July and August in order to provide a fun way for incoming Kindergarten families to meet each other, as well as to familiarize the children with the Kindergarten area before the start of the school year. We also usually have a Kindergarten BBQ in August.

2025-2026 School Year: Transitional Kindergarten (UTK). Here is some important information:
Students born between 9/2/20 and 9/1/21 are eligible to enroll. Detailed information can be found on the SDUSD UTK website. Enrollment through the district will begin on March 15, 2025. Please follow the instructions given on the District website.
